Privacy Policy

Last Updated: January 2025

This Privacy Policy explains how information is collected, used, and disclosed when you use the v1ta protocol and website.

1. Introduction

v1ta is a decentralized protocol built on the Solana blockchain. This Privacy Policy describes our practices regarding data collection and use for:

  • The v1ta website (docs.v1ta.xyz)
  • The v1ta web application
  • The v1ta smart contracts on Solana

Important: Blockchain transactions are public and permanent. Once data is recorded on-chain, it cannot be deleted or made private.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Blockchain Data (Public)

When you interact with the v1ta smart contracts, the following information is publicly recorded on the Solana blockchain:

  • Wallet Address: Your public Solana wallet address
  • Transaction History: All transactions you submit to the Protocol
  • Position Data: Collateral amounts, debt amounts, and position status
  • Timestamps: When transactions occurred
  • Smart Contract Interactions: All function calls and parameters

This data is:

  • Public: Anyone can view it using blockchain explorers
  • Permanent: Cannot be deleted or modified
  • Pseudonymous: Linked to your wallet address, not your real identity

2.2 Website Usage Data

Our website may collect:

  • IP Address: For rate limiting and security
  • Browser Information: User agent, browser type, operating system
  • Page Views: Which pages you visit and when
  • Referral Information: Where you came from (e.g., search engines, social media)
  • Device Information: Screen size, device type

This data is collected through:

  • Server logs
  • Analytics services (if applicable)
  • Error tracking services

2.3 Information We Do NOT Collect

We do not collect or have access to:

  • Your private keys or seed phrases
  • Your password (wallets are self-custodial)
  • Your real name, email, or contact information (unless you provide it voluntarily)
  • Your location (beyond what can be inferred from IP address)
  • Your financial information beyond what's public on-chain

3. How We Use Information

3.1 Blockchain Data

Blockchain data is used to:

  • Execute your transactions through smart contracts
  • Display your position information in the user interface
  • Calculate liquidations and redemptions
  • Maintain protocol integrity

This data is processed automatically by smart contracts and cannot be controlled or deleted by v1ta.

3.2 Website Data

Website usage data may be used to:

  • Improve the website and user experience
  • Monitor for abuse and security threats
  • Analyze traffic patterns and popular features
  • Debug technical issues
  • Comply with legal obligations

4. Information Sharing and Disclosure

4.1 Blockchain Data (Public)

All blockchain data is public and accessible to:

  • Anyone with internet access
  • Blockchain explorers (e.g., Solscan, Solana Explorer)
  • Analytics platforms (e.g., Dune Analytics)
  • Other users and developers

4.2 Website Data

We may share website data with:

  • Service Providers: Hosting, analytics, and infrastructure providers
  • Legal Authorities: If required by law or to protect our rights
  • Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

4.3 Third-Party Services

Our website may use third-party services:

  • Hosting: Vercel, AWS, or similar
  • Analytics: Google Analytics, Plausible, or similar
  • RPC Providers: Solana RPC nodes for blockchain access
  • CDN: Content delivery networks for performance

These services have their own privacy policies and data handling practices.

5. Wallet Connections

When you connect your Solana wallet (e.g., Phantom, Solflare):

  • The connection happens directly between your browser and wallet
  • We receive your wallet's public address only
  • We cannot access your private keys
  • You control what transactions to sign
  • You can disconnect at any time

6. Cookies and Tracking

Cookies We Use

  • Essential Cookies: Required for the website to function (e.g., wallet connection)
  • Analytics Cookies: To understand how the site is used
  • Preference Cookies: To remember your settings (e.g., dark mode)

You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but this may affect functionality.

Do Not Track

We respect Do Not Track (DNT) signals when possible, though blockchain data remains public regardless.

Our website may link to third-party websites and services:

  • marginfi
  • Drift Protocol
  • Pyth Network
  • Solana Explorer
  • Discord, Twitter/X, GitHub

These third parties have their own privacy policies. We are not responsible for their practices.

8. Data Security

Security Measures

We implement reasonable security measures to protect website data:

  • HTTPS encryption for all website traffic
  • Secure hosting infrastructure
  • Regular security updates
  • Access controls for any backend systems

Blockchain Security

For blockchain security:

  • Smart contracts are immutable once deployed
  • No central party controls user funds
  • Users are responsible for their own wallet security

Important: We cannot recover lost private keys or reverse unauthorized transactions. Protect your wallet credentials.

Limitations

Despite our security measures:

  • No system is 100% secure
  • Blockchain data is public by design
  • You are responsible for your wallet security
  • Smart contract bugs may exist

  • Cannot be deleted or modified
  • Accessible forever to anyone

Website Data
